Custom Leaders

There are more lures on the market today than ever before, and many have very specific and fine tuned actions that can be greatly enhanced by the use of a specific leader.  Also, such leaders can be designed to minimize lure tangling and fouling, thus maximizing on-the-water efficiency and enjoyment of a specific fishing experience.  One leader does not fit all lures, not 30 years ago and certainly not today.  Different combinations of leader materials and components can be used to create leaders specific enough to match an individual lure.  For instance, I do a great deal of casting with Manta Hang 10 jerkbaits in all environments and seasons.  Over the course of a year, I developed a specific leader that heightens the Manta’s action while reducing the fouling commonly associated with all gliding jerkbaits.  Effective leaders should never kill a lure’s action, and in many cases should enhance action.  They should complement the length, shape, and weight of the lure; as well as match the weight of the desired main line and tackle.  Of course, the leader should also prevent bite offs.  Customers may email me with specifications of a leader they want, ask my opinion of how to fix a problem they may be encountering with a specific lure or type of lure, or with questions on how to use a leader to improve the action of a lure, etc.

Custom Live Bait Rigs and Harnesses

Contrary to the popular belief of many, live bait fishing for muskies is not just dragging a sucker through the water any old way.  Live bait applications used for muskies get as specific and precise as those employed by professional walleye anglers.  Depth and structure considerations must be taken into account as well as matching varying tackle weights from extra heavy (huge suckers) to ultra finesse (twitching chubs and running bluegills) and everything in between.  Live bait rigs and harnesses can be constructed from different types of leader material, components, and hooks; and made to be used with all sizes and species of live bait and tackle weights.  Again, all orders, inquiries, and correspondence concerning custom live bait rigs and harness will be handled via email.
